APPLE vs PC
Day 2 (Article #2) of the 30 Day Challenge! I am going to talk about my experiences with the Apple Mac Computer in which I started using 3.5 years ago. In this Hub I am going to go over all the things I have found to be the differences between Apple and PC. I will also cover how I feel about the Apple vs PC commercials or really what is the Apple vs Microsoft Software battle and who I believe has won this war.
When I was deciding what to replace my 4th work computer in about 7 years do to viruses and the slowness of the computers after a crash and fix that I decided to try the Apple Computer. Now to give you some background of me and computers I started with the PC jr back in grade school in 7th grade. I worked out a deal with a salesman to pitch my father a actual PC but the salesman ended up selling him the Junior which pretty much went extinct within 1 year. I did what I could do with it which was more of a paper weight. I went to 2 High Schools and the first I do not remember any computers whatsoever. At the second one they had Apples and I had no clue how to use them or what all the codes you had to use to do anything. Once in college we had PC's and I learned much more and went through with flying colors. Let me say this though, I never took any programming classes ever. It is purely out of the box programs for me. After college I have always used a PC. So all that being said lets move on with the article.
So, one influence for me to buy a apple computer was those terrific ads that Apple has put out called the Mac vs PC commercials. *See one below. I all ready had learned that "Macs" do not get viruses like PC's and that was the biggest influence to me. All my computers have had Grand Maul Heart Attacks and were laying there and if you had the patience to wait for data to pop up and literally cook a dinner in between clicks you would have been fine. So, I went to the local store and in January of 2006 I bought the 24" Mac.
Since that day I have had learning curves with the software and machines but the difference between the Apple and PC is dramatic in just running and not having such problems. I have to say the email account I have setup with Apple has really kept out a lot of the spam also. I do not use any programs or filtering systems on my mac at work nor my house once I got one for there. What is really nice, I did start receiving spam and the email for Apple has a "Bounce" feature which makes the sender receive an email stating the account is not a valid account. That alone eliminates 98% of all the spam emails I receive.
Another nice thing between the two systems is that with Apple placing everything inside the monitor you need, there is a lot less wires which cleans up the desk and no spider webs underneath the desk.
I truly believe Apple has the better machine at this time and if they can keep up coming with truly ingenious ways of making software and machines they will stay ahead of the times. Apple shows they can get a product out with few faults very easily. I think that Microsoft (even though they are not the PC company) is gotten so large that it makes it very hard for them to get through the political side of business and get a new product out quickly. What has been the newest things from Microsoft? All I can think of is the Zune or something like that which died years ago.
You maybe a PC fan but if you are looking to replace the old paper weight truly think about the Mac Computer. Yes it costs more. But it will last a whole lot longer and not get those nasty viruses and slow down to a crawl. Microsoft has written their software to work on a Mac and you can even have your Mac become a PC and run PC software if needed. If Microsoft is willing to do that then you must see the light that they are even recognizing that their operating system is not the best and that Apple has a superior system.
