The Mosque of Confusion

I am writing this Hub for clarification of what I think everyone wants and truly believes in regards to our Great Country and some other countries religion.

I read an article about how New York sees its values be so different from one side of the street compared to the other. It can change so much that people may see a 1 block area only on the north side as "in" and the rest of the block is considered a "slum" for the wannabees. This is call micro real estate you could say. With values and desires to live places for people being so limited that we will start here with how the Mosque fits into this.

The Ground Zero area is a "microcosm" compared to New York as a whole as stated above would really be most of New York City. We are of ONE Country and are represented how we as Americans as a whole do decide what can or can not be placed to something that terrorists have destroyed. If they destroy 1 city block in 10 cities and we allow these terrorists to put up their own buildings on the properties they have destroyed we are basically giving in to allow them to destroy us from within.

All of you must remember a person can seek refuge in a church, mosque, or temple. Well, if they use these building to start attacking us from within in 10 years we are screwed. Who will be running this country then. We need to show that we do not allow such practices.

Going back to the Ground Zero area, if we put into a true perspective we would have to include all of New York City. That mosque should NOT be built anywhere in the City, but I would say a minimum of say 2 miles away from the Ground Zero area would be a good compromise. Ground Zero is sacred ground to all of America. Not just New York citizens but us all since we all had to live the nightmare.

I will allow a mosque to be built but not near our sacred grounds which can always change and be enlargened pending on what terrorist do. If they want to be respectful as a religion they would back off and actually see this but they are not wanting to be nice.

They want to be difficult and do something more stupid years down the road. Say NO!

You make an unwise assumption that every muslim is a terrorist or radical sympathizer. Not everyone who believes in Allah is a terrorist, in fact only a miniscule portion of the faith support these radicals. Your assumption would be like saying there could he no churches within two miles of the oklahoma city bombing due to the fact the one responsible was christian. Not only is it unfair, it goes against what our country was created for.

Yes, I implied that without stating I am not. I do not believe ALL are but we are better safe than sorry. Who is to say Ok bombers were active church goers. They may have been Christian but dropped the faith along time ago.

I believe it is wise because why we should let a person build a mosque in our country when they are not willing to share pertinent info to us about who exactly is building it?

Life goes on. Everyone has an opinion and that opinion can be changed but may not. I think you might be willing to kill us also, you might get me to believe you wont but 2 years later you do! Would that be wise of me to drop my guard about someone I had no faith in or believe to begin with. You would have been the smarter person getting me to trust you. I aint going to trust terrorist types or people who belong to that religion.

Just like it was a bad assumption that you think I classify everyone into one large group. I never have. I usually choose my words carefully except for typing. I get a little lazy at this.

So off you go to go and group and assume with someone one else.

I agree with you. The Imam Rauf is not a peaceful moderate Muslim. The facts about this man speak for themselves, contrary to what your first commentator said. He does not characterize Hamas and Hezbollah as terrorist organizations even though the US does. He wants to see the US become Shariah compliant. Shariah law is barbaric. He is traveling around the Middle East on our dime looking for funding and we are too stupid to ask exactly who is contributing. This mosque must not be built. Its presence is a painful slap in the face to all those people who died at the hands of the Muslim terrorists.

all,

lets remember Ok City was done as a statement against the Clintons and Feds A TOTALLY DIFFERENT SITUATION- These ratba$tard extremeist terrorists who by the way happen to be Muslims.. I am right so far- BUILDING THIS "MEGA -MOSQUE" is like putting up a statue of abe Ruth at fenway Park- No one except the sprinkling of yankee fans would do anything but spit on the statue in boston-

that is essentially what is going on- the most appalling thing is the US tAXPAYERS ARE PAYING FOR the CLERIC to go around and get money for it- So if I go to start a lutheren Church in my Town- since there is only 1 -the US Government will give me $ to get funding together for the church- When the "F" will that ever happen? ok Never-

Great job

I approve the last four comments whole heartedly! I have to say I am not against them building a mosque, just not so close to a living memory of what the "group, religion, people" did in our country. I will not argue we offer freedom of religion but it is funny how some people say it is not a religion that wants the mosque but Islam. Is not Islam a religion?

I have to say I am a little confused on the foreign stuff but either way they need to be checked out and see where the money is coming from so we are NOT allowing terrorists into this country.

The whole dynamic of the U.S. letting just anybody in should change to more of who are you and are you going to kill us attitude.

America has been taught to place "political correctness" at the pinnacle of our behavior. We use it now to cover up that set of balls that are missing from where they should be in this situation. The placement of this mosque is not about religious freedom or respect for anybody or anything. It's all about in your face laughing behind your back at how absolutely stupid Americans can be and how far they are willing to go to demonstrate that stupidity. I tend to agree with your position and feel that this situation could easily be avoided with enough pressure from the proper government officials and a reasonable level of respect and compromise from those behind the mosque...in there lies the truth!
